The Statewide AI Workgroup

Leading Michigan's AI-Powered Education Transformation

The AI Statewide Workgroup was established in February of 2024 by Michigan Virtual’s AI Lab, to guide and coordinate the safe, ethical, and inclusive integration of artificial intelligence across Michigan’s K–12 education system. Comprised of one Steering Committee and five subcommittees (Policy & Ethics, Assessment, Professional Learning & Student Use, Business Operations & Technology, and Communications & Outreach), the group seeks to ensure that AI initiatives are aligned, transparent, and grounded in student-centered values.
