Instructional Frameworks and Assessment

In today’s world, artificial intelligence, generative technologies, and data-rich tools are reshaping how we teach and learn. This framework is designed to support educators in leveraging AI within the core elements of effective teaching: purpose, student engagement, curriculum and pedagogy, assessment for student learning, and classroom environment and culture. It aims to prepare students for a technology-driven future. The framework is grounded in the University of Washington’s Center for Educational Leadership’s 5 Dimensions of Teaching and Learning™ (5D™), a research-based tool that helps schools and districts create a shared language for teaching and learning, scaffold the development of expertise, and grow high-quality instructional practices.
